Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you are unaware of whether or not you have out-of-network benefits or to receive more accurate information, you have two options to check your benefits.

OPTION ONE: If you know you have out-of-network benefits, you can create a free account with Thrizer to check your out-of-network insurance benefits. I partner with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. See the next FAQ section, “How do I use my out-of-network benefits” for more details.

OPTION TWO: If you are unaware of whether or not you have out-of-network benefits with your insurance, I encourage you to call the number on the back of your health insurance card listed under Member Services. Ask the following questions about out-of-network psychotherapy benefits:

Coverage: Do I have out-of-network benefits for therapy, and does it include telehealth?

Reimbursement: How much will I be reimbursed for a 50-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90834)? What is my out-of-network deductible?

Requirements: Do I need pre-authorization or a referral?

Limits: Are there session limits or specific telehealth requirements?

Claims: What’s needed for reimbursement claims? Do I have to submit my own claims or can my therapist submit claims on my behalf via Mentaya?

Costs: Are there co-pays or other fees for out-of-network therapy?

  • I currently accept these insurances: Aetna, Cigna, and Optum. For all other insurances, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost.

I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for our sessions post-deductible, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save on average 70% upfront on our sessions.

During our intro call, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be.

  • Heal with Hailey is entirely virtual. The benefits of this are that you can be anywhere in California to receive my services, and you can participate in therapy in the comfort of your own space.

  • Your therapy services will be tailored to your needs. I meet with most clients on a weekly or biweekly basis, with a recommendation to start weekly for the first four weeks to establish a strong foundation. We'll discuss what session frequency works best for you and adjust as we go. I will ensure that session frequency aligns with your goals and evolving needs.

  • It’s entirely up to you and your healing journey. There’s no set timeline, and everyone’s path looks different. Some clients come to therapy with short-term goals and feel ready to move forward after just a few months. Others have longer-term goals or simply value having ongoing support, so they stay in therapy for a longer period. Whether you’re here to work through something specific or to have a safe, supportive space to process your thoughts and emotions, we’ll tailor the experience to fit your needs. It’s all about what feels right for you and your personal growth.

  • Not at this time. Therapists are only able to provide services in the states they are licensed in. Currently, I am only licensed in California. If you reside outside of California, I would be happy to provide you with referrals to other therapists in your state.
